Permaseal

Stone is an absorbent material and we at The Stone Gallery want to make sure you understand the product you are receiving. Below we provide details of the various products you can select and how everyday wear can affect the products if not installed and sealed properly.

Although stone is usually thought of as "hard," it is a porous material. Natural stone has varying degrees of porosity depending on the type. If left unsealed, spills and everyday messes can easily penetrate the surface. The liquid eventually evaporates, but the stain is left behind.

Highly acidic substances such as orange juice, coffee, and wine will also etch sensitive stones and leave a dull mark. This is especially true of marble. Acid resistant stones such as granite will not etch.

The best way to prevent stains is to treat the surface with a protective sealer. The sealer fills in the pores and repels spills on the surface, allowing you time to completely wipe it away.

Permaseal is our proprietary sealer. It's our name and it's our product. Like no other, it comes with a 15-year warranty transferable with the home. Permaseal is the most advanced technology available, providing the ultimate shield against water and oil based stains. The micro-molecular formula used will bond with the stone surface to deliver unsurpassed performance. The sealer reacts to the stone and you no longer have to worry about porosity. Once applied, Permaseal protects against staining, bacteria and normal maintenance you would have to do if no sealer was applied.

At The Stone Gallery we highly suggest a permanent sealer for your all of your stone so all you have to do once the install is complete is sit back, relax and enjoy your new countertops.
